Ep. 011: Igniting the World of Design, with Yuhan Liao, Founder of Mono Space[Mandarin Episode]
In this week’s episode, Esther sits down with guest Yuhan Liao (Wendy) and explore her journey to entrepreneurship in the products design space. We delve into the motivations behind Yuhan’s passion for arts and designs, as well as the impact of her parents, who have been active in the creative industry for decades. We also explore mental health practices for stress reduction as a founder in New York City. This will be our first episode in Mandarin, as we are dedicated to broadening diversity and language on this podcast through our collective efforts!
Our guest, Yuhan Liao, was born in Beijing and immigrated to Vancouver at a young age. After transferring to an art-oriented school, Yuhan began concentrating her efforts for the pursuance of arts and design. After studying product design at Parsons School of Design, she pursued a master’s in graphic design at the Pratt Institute, further enhancing her knowledge in the design space. Prior to starting Mono Space, Yuhan worked at an advertisement company, New Media, and founded the company’s creative design department. After graduating Pratt, she decided to embark on the founder’s journey and started her design company serving various types of clients in New York City.
